Ingredients:
1 cup chana dal which has been soaked and drained
¼ cup besan
½ cup freshly chopped tender cabbage leaves
2 tbsps chopped fresh mint leaves
1 tbsp chopped green chilli
2 tbsps low fat curds
A pinch of turmeric powder
Salt to taste
1 tsp jeera powder
1 ½ tsp of cooking oil
Method:
- Grind the soaked dal with the green chilli to a coarse paste
- Add the other ingredients and mix well in a bowl
- Heat a nonstick tava smeared with ½ a tsp of oil
- Shape the mixture into flat and round tikkis and cook on the tava on a slow flame
- Brown the tikkis on both sides and serve hot with mint chutney
This is a delicious and low fat recipe which can be served to weight watchers and to diabetics.
